HAMLET — Amber Daniels, of Hamlet, earned her Accounting degree from RichmondCC in 2015 and a Business Administration degree and Bookkeeper Certificate in 2016. Currently, she is employed with Anson County Government as the assistant finance officer.

RichmondCC announces spring honors lists

HAMLET — Richmond Community College has announced its honor lists for the 2020 Spring Semester.

HAMLET — Melinda Murphy’s first go-round with college didn’t go so well, but her second attempt nearly 20 years later put her in control of her future. Murphy is the senior accountant and owner of Murphy & Associates, an accounting business that handles bookkeeping, payroll preparation, tax planning, income tax returns and other services.

HAMLET — Every student who comes through Richmond Community College is asked, “What do you want to be in the future?” RichmondCC has a goal to assist every student in implementing a plan toward a future career. 

HAMLET — Richmond Community College will once again be partnering with STEMerald City to offer summer camps that engage children in critical thinking, math, science and technology. However, there’s a twist to this year’s STEAM camps. Camps will be conducted online plus outdoor activities.

HAMLET — Tristan Poole of Rockingham has big plans to achieve big goals. The Richmond Community College graduate hopes to one day use the skills he learned in the Information Technology program to be a part of an elite force of U.S. Army soldiers: the 75th Ranger Regiment.

HAMLET — Richmond Community College provided updates about campus renovations and the use of funds from the CARES Act during the Oct. 2 Board of Trustees meeting via teleconference.

HAMLET — Nine students are celebrating two graduations this year. These students are graduating from high school and earning their associate degrees from Richmond Community College. These students completed all their high school requirements, while also accumulating at a minimum 61 college credits at the same time as dual enrollment students.

HAMLET — Many times sons follow in their father’s footsteps, but for Chad Guinn it was the exact opposite. He followed in his son’s footsteps by completing the Electric Utility Substation & Relay Technology program at Richmond Community College. Also like his son, Sandy, he is now working for Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories as a relay technician.

HAMLET — North Carolina is now in Phase II of the re-opening process, and many are anxious to return to their normal places of worship. Richmond Community College and the Small Business Center will be assisting local churches and places of worship in reopening in a safe manner.
