Lambeth, Toler tie the knot at Berry Patch

ELLERBE — In a small private ceremony over the weekend, two local celebrities tied the knot at the World’s Largest Strawberry.

Meghann Lambeth, director of the Richmond County Tourism Development Authority, and William R. Toler, managing editor of the Richmond Observer, looked at each other and said “I do” at the Berry Patch.

The union solidifies the pair as the county’s premiere power couple, the likes of the Robinettes and nuptial-hosting Berrys.

“I knew I moved to Richmond County for a reason,” Toler said. “It just took me nearly a decade to figure it out.”

Lambeth pointed to their common backgrounds and current jobs and interests.

“We were both raised on farms — and on route 1003,” Lambeth explained. “It was destiny.”

State Route 1003 runs through Lambeth’s Richmond County home community of Derby, as well as Toler’s Craven County stomping grounds of Cayton.

Following a reception at Cole Auditorium in Hamlet, the two boarded an Amtrak train at the Depot for a honeymoon in Florida.

Lambeth and Toler also announced that, upon their return, they will be resigning from their current jobs and starting their own marketing company. They have already secured several local clients.
