ELLERBE — While the pre-K crew at Mineral Springs Elementary usually takes the tinsel for the annual ugly Christmas sweater contest, the fifth-grade teachers pulled out the win this year.

Teachers Lora Kelley and Karen Arnold enlisted the help of some of their students for a dance routine that won over the judges in the gym.
The pre-K teachers came in second, followed by the third-grade team.

Judging the contest were Richmond County Board of Education members Ronald Tillman and Scotty Baldwin, Richmond County Tourism Director Meghann Lambeth and Richmond Observer Managing Editor William R. Toler.
