ELLERBE — Faculty and staff of Mineral Springs Elementary broke out their worst wear and best dance moves for an Ugly Christmas Sweater Contest Friday morning.

The four teams each donned the tackiest seasonal sweaters they could find and put on a short show in front of the whole school inside the gym.

The Pre-K team of teachers Jessica Davis and Sherri Boyle with assistants Annette Stewart and Christina Smith stole the show, winning first place.

Second place went to the First-grade team, the Fifth-grade team took third and the administration team fourth.

Judging the contest were Richmond County Board of Education Chairman Wiley Mabe, Richmond County Sheriff’s Deputy Chris Smith, Richmond County Tourism Director Meghann Lambeth and Richmond Observer Managing Editor William R. Toler.
