ROCKINGHAM — Hamlet-based #minimovement is hosting its Spring Slam mini truck show, for the fifth year, from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday at the Richmond County Airport.
Although the show is primarily geared toward mini-trucks, James White says all car and truck cultures are welcome to participate. Registration is $25.
While some would argue that mini trucks are technically lowriders, many in the mini-truck culture say there is a difference.
White describes mini trucks as having static or air ride suspension, while lowriders use hydraulics. Mini trucks also have billet or chrome wheels while lowriders have wire wheels.
Vehicles have a chance to place in the Top 40, Fantastic 5 and Best of Show, with several sponsor’s choice awards also being handed out.
“The mini truckin’, or lowrider, lifestyle is unlike any other car/truck culture. It’s like family, very laid back, fun and eventful,” White said. “If you are into cool cars or would like to be, come join us Saturday!”
