ROCKINGHAM — Sandhills Chapter Veterans Recognition Committee Chairman and JROTC Liaison Officer Chuck Spelman, a retired Army major, and Chapter President Bruce Fensley attended the Richmond Senior High School JROTC Annual Awards Dinner and Change of Command Ceremony to present the Sons of the American Revolution JROTC Outstanding Cadet Medal set to cadet Johnathan Norris.

Kudos to the Senior JROTC Instructor Maj. Darryl Kelly, Sgt. 1st Class Victoria and 1st Sgt. Aaron Light for the outstanding job they are doing with these fine young Americans.

We reconnected with the recipient of our 2022 SAR JROTC Outstanding Cadet Award, Alfonso Nunez, who will graduate next month and proceed to Fort Benning, Georgia in August for his initial Army training.

We observed an outstanding unit of Army JROTC cadets who are highly motivated, focused, cohesive, well trained, and academically very accomplished class of future American citizens.
