FAYETTEVILLE — Celebrate National Boating and Fishing Week with the N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission.
Families with children 15 years of age and younger are invited to our 2024 Fin-tastic Fishing Festival at the John E. Pechmann Fishing Education Center, the biggest fishing event of the year. There are more than 12 hands-on, interactive exhibits and demonstrations, and it’s a great way to learn more about fishing and the important roles that anglers play in the conservation of North Carolina’s fisheries.
This year’s sponsors include Dick’s Sporting Goods and the North Carolina Wildlife Federation. Dick’s has donated a Family Fishing Package for our this year’s photo contest valued at over $500 and will give an Fin-tastic Fishing Festival t-shirt to the first 100 registered participants to arrive. Kids 15 years age and younger will be eligible for a drawing of a Unified Sportsman License provided by The North Carolina Wildlife Federation.

You may bring your own medium-action fishing equipment and bait (natural bait only — no minnows are allowed). This will be a Catch-and -Release fishing-only event. If you need equipment the Pechmann Center has fishing combos for the loan, at the event and worms will be available.
