Peter Tucich, M.D., named medical director of FirstHealth Wound Care & Hyperbarics

PINEHURST — Peter A. Tucich, M.D., has been named medical director of Wound Care & Hyperbarics at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital, MRH-Hoke and MRH-Richmond.

Dr. Tucich joined FirstHealth’s wound care team in 2014, and he also serves as an emergency medicine physician with Sandhills Emergency Physicians and FirstHealth. He received a B.A. degree in biology from Wayne State University in Detroit, Mich., where he also earned his medical degree. He completed a residency in emergency medicine at Detroit Medical Center.

“Working in wound care allows me to forge strong, caring relationships with my patients, guiding them through their healing journey. Beyond treating physical wounds, I take pride in offering support and encouragement to patients during difficult times.,” said Dr. Tucich. “As I step into the role of medical director, I am honored to lead the exceptional team at the Wound Care Center. Their dedication and expertise inspire me every day.”

FirstHealth Wound Care & Hyperbarics is a member of the Healogics network of more than 600 Wound Care Centers and offers highly specialized wound care to patients suffering from diabetic foot ulcers, pressure ulcers, infections and other chronic wounds that have not healed in a reasonable amount of time.

Advanced wound care modalities offered at FirstHealth include negative pressure wound therapy, total contact casting, bio-engineered tissues, biosynthetic dressings and growth factor therapies.

FirstHealth Wound Care & Hyperbarics also offers hyperbaric oxygen therapy, which works by surrounding the patient with 100 percent oxygen to help progress the healing of the wound.
