PHOTOS: Backpacks, computers given away in Dobbins Heights

DOBBINS HEIGHTS — Free backpacks were given out to students on Saturday ahead of the start of the new school year.

The giveaway was part of Alcohol and Drug Services annual Community Safe Celebration at Dobbins Heights Park.

The event, now in its 12th year, also saw 50 students get new Dell desktop computers and other school supplies. All supplies and computers were donated.

The annual celebration also included face painting, a cookout, basketball tournament and time in the community pool.
