ROCKINGHAM — More than 100 motorcycles roared through Richmond County Sunday afternoon to pay tribute to the leader of a local club.

William “Bugga” Sturdivant, of Lilesville, was president of Playaz Elite Motorcycle Club.

Club members and fellow bikers served as an escort from Lilesville to Hamlet for Bugga’s Homegoing Service at Cole Auditorium.

He passed away July 13 at the age of 43.

Bikers from multiple counties remembered Bugga at Bike Night last week.
