Shoppers strolled along East Washington Street Thursday evening looking for gifts during the second annual Downtown Rockingham Christmas Festival.

The downtown shops and restaurants remained open, most extending their normal business hours, for the event as vendors peddled their crafts, food and services on the sidewalks.

The event, organized by the Rockingham Downtown Corp., also included dance performances in front of Bold Moves and singing — from Eric Whitfield, Charity Davis and David Dixon, as well as the Richmond Community College Choir — in front of the Manufacturers Building.
