ROCKINGHAM — Gary Lowder and Smokin’ Hot hit the stage at Cole Plaza on Thursday for the first installment of the Plaza Jam summer concert series.

The band scorched through a variety of beach, R&B and classic rock hits including originals and covers.

This is the first time the band has performed in the series. They were scheduled to perform in both 2020 and 2021, but both shows were canceled due to mass gathering restrictions in response to the COVID Pandemic.

Other bands scheduled to perform this year are Chocolate Chip and Company in June, The Entertainers in July, North Tower Band in August, the Tams in September and Band of Oz in October.

All concerts are free and open to the public and begin at 6:30 p.m. on the first Thursday of the month.
