HAMLET — The Sept. 25 installment of the Boxcar Concert Series in Main Street Park featured more homegrown talent.
Songwriter and guitarslinger Jonathan Robinson, who was raised in Hamlet, took the stage with bandmates Joe Felice on bass and Rob Dufresne on drums underneath the park’s picnic shelter.
The set list included blues-rock covers ranging from the Cream version of Robert Johnson’s “Cross Road Blues” and Dire Straits’ “Sultans of Swing,” and a few original tunes like the slide-based “Avalon.”
The band has had a busy week, performing at Rockin’ for Veterans on Sept. 17, as well Monarch Under the Stars Sept. 23 and a benefit for the Special Forces Association in Spring Lake.
