
HAMLET — More than 100 entries rolled or walked down Main Street Thursday evening for Hamlet’s second annual Parade of Lights, a nighttime Christmas parade in the Seaboard City.
Emcee Butch Adeimy was stationed at City Hall, calling out each group or individual as they passed by while the judges took note.
For the second consecutive year, Richmond County Hospice took first place for its Nativity-themed float.
A&K Farm and Landworks came in second with its reindeer rodeo entry; and Tedder Trash Solutions, which placed second in 2021, landed at third.
The Hamlet Business Development Association is again hosting its annual Old Fashioned Christmas event from 4-7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 10 on Main Street and Hamlet Avenue.
The Rockingham Downtown Christmas Festival, sponsored by the Rockingham Downtown Corp., is scheduled for 5-8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 15.
Rockingham Speedway this weekend cranked up its month-long “Speedway Christmas” drive-thru light show, which will run the entire month of December.
