ROCKINGHAM — A convoy of motorcycles roared out of the Hide-A-Way Tavern parking lot on Saturday, raising $3,200 to help send veterans on a hunting trip.

The fourth annual Special Forces Wounded Warriors Ride is a fundraiser by the Silvertip Hunt Club.

Each year, the club takes four veterans, picked by the Special Forces Association, on a weekend hunting trip in the Norman area off of Capel Mill Road.

The veterans are also given Yeti coolers full of hunting-related gifts and, if there are enough funds, each a firearm.

Last year’s ride raised $4,7000.
