Hamlet native Jonathan Robinson and his band kicked off the entertainment portion of the Seaboard Festival at the top of the hill near the Hamlet Public Library.

The band — featuring another Hamlet native, John Martin, on percussion — started the set with a Lynyrd Skynyrd cover, with Robinson breaking a string, causing him to switch guitars early on.

Down at the stage by the Depot, Richmond County native Erik Hawks and the Hard Luck Band blasted through country hits, including several original songs. This was Hawks’ second performance in Hamlet within 20 hours, having played the night before for the Boxcar Concert Series.

Later in the afternoon, festivalgoers danced to the sounds of the Sand Band and Special Occasion Band.
