HAMLET — The RichmondCC Choir will perform a free concert on Tuesday, Dec. 4, at 6:30 p.m. at the Cole Auditorium.

Comprised of Richmond Community College students, faculty and staff, the RichmondCC Choir never fails to entertain with the varying range and vocal talents of the singers led by choir director and pianist Dr. Kimberly Goard. Goard has prepared a unique arrangement of holiday songs intermingled with some artistic configurations of sounds and songs that complement the talents of the choir members.

“On Dec. 4, we will officially hold our first Christmas Concert. The choir concert will feature solos, small groups, and of course, the full choir,” Goard said. “It will include popular and sacred songs of the season. Listeners can expect to hear famous pieces from Handel’s ‘Messiah,’ Frank Sinatra, and even ‘The Grinch.’”

The RichmondCC Choir was organized in October 2017 and has performed at several college functions, including the annual employee Christmas luncheon and Convocation. The Choir held a Spring Concert in April that focused on the theme of “overcoming adversity.”

“I spend several days planning the order of choir songs and solos, trying to provide variety that flows well and that represents the theme well. This is done with the audience’s emotions and experience in mind,” Goard said.

The RichmondCC Choir’s Christmas Concert is free and open to the public. The performance will be held in the lobby of the Cole Auditorium.
