Bryant’s ELEVATE Youth Summit training was designed to assist youth in better understanding and developing leadership skills. The Youth Leadership Council attendees participated in cooperative learning activities that focused on leadership development, self-esteem, values clarification and cultural competency.

The goal of the day-long seminar is for the students to utilize their skills to influence and impact their community. During the leadership summit, students learned how to define leadership and identify character traits of leaders; explore self-esteem, self-efficacy and how to build confidence in themselves and others; define values and understand how to influence decision making; learn how to develop SMART goals; and explore the benefits of diversity.

The REACH program of the Richmond County Health Department provides two programs to students in Richmond County Schools: Promoting Health Among Teens-Abstinence Only is presented to the eighth-graders at the middle schools and Reducing the Risk at Richmond County Ninth Grade Academy, Richmond County Early College and Ashley Chapel Educational Center.
