Richmond Senior Beta Club brings home national championship, 5 other awards

OKLAHOMA CITY — Students from Richmond Senior High School placed in six events at the Beta Club National Senior Convention — including one top spot.

The club placed 10th in Group Talent and Rapid Response, the latter featuring the team of Jaylin Robison, Kevyn Leviner, Justyn Leviner,Haleigh Smith, Michael Mclaurin, Evan Baxley and Noah Jordan.

In individual events, Diana Recinos Gonzalez placed fourth in Spanish and Jordyn Wall placed ninth in 12th-Grade Math.

As previously reported, the Quiz Bowl team — Adam Tatum, Trey Singleton, Ariel Spooner and Jenna Kubiak   placed seventh.

The big winners from the convention were Zalayell Short, Allyson Leggett, Kylie Howell and Raven Newton  the Service Snapshot national champions.

Earlier in the week, Kirsten McDonald, a student at the Richmond Ninth Grade Academy, placed first in the Recyclable Art category.

At the Junior National Convention, which ended Tuesday, the Hamlet Middle School Beta Club brought home third place in Technology, eighth in 2-D Design and ninth in the Quiz Bowl.
