Richmond Senior Raider archery team qualifies for Eastern Nationals competition

ROCKINGHAM — The Richmond Senior High School Raider Archery Team has qualified for the Eastern Nationals Archery Competition in Louisville, Kentucky. This competition is scheduled for May 10-13, 2023.

The Raider Archery Team’s qualification for the Eastern Nationals Archery Competition in their inaugural season is a significant accomplishment that highlights the dedication and hard work of the cadets and their archery coach, 1st Sgt. Aaron Light.

“The cadets have been working tirelessly since December to improve the physical and mental skills necessary to be competitive in high-level archery,” said Light. “This is just another testament to what you can accomplish with hard work and personal sacrifice. I am extremely excited that our team has punched their ticket to compete at the Eastern Nationals!”

The Raider Battalion Archery Team comprises a group of enthusiastic students who have displayed remarkable skill, discipline, and sportsmanship in their training and competitions. The team’s qualification for the Eastern Nationals is a well-deserved recognition of their dedication and commitment to the sport of archery.

“I am so proud of the great strides the Raider Archery Team is making in their first full year of competition,” said the school principal Jim Butler. “This is a testament to the hard work, leadership, and talent in the Raider Battalion. Everyone needs to keep an eye on the RSHS JROTC. They are really going places!”
