Rockingham Middle well represented at state Junior Beta Club Convention

More than 50 members of the Rockingham Middle School Junior Beta Club descended upon the Koury Convention Center in Greensboro, North Carolina, Jan. 28-30, 2024, for the 32nd annual National Junior Beta Convention. Members of the RMS Beta chapter participated in an array of activities ranging from academic competitions to events illuminating the arts.

Rockingham Middle School placed in several events including the following:

  • Second Place, Hand–Drawn Anime: Brianna McDonald
  • Second Place, Drawing: Zenna Murphy
  • Second Place, Performing Arts, Solo, Duo, Trio Event: Noah Goodman on piano
  • Fourth Place, Pottery: Kayleigh Thrower
  • Fourth Place, Digital Portfolio: Jake Gardner, Nolan Dawkins, Damian Bastida, Ashton Allen, Carter Hunt, Bayden Bendell, Jacey Williamson, Emily Rodgers, Tynasia Jones, Harper Denson, Yaya Smith
  • Fifth Place, Social Studies (Grade 7): Noah Goodman

These students will go on to represent Rockingham Middle School at the national competition.

The 2024 National Junior Beta Convention is slated for June 9-13, 2024, at the Savannah International Trade and Convention Center in Savannah, Georgia.
