ROCKINGHAM — In less than two months, Rockingham Speedway will transform into a temporary concert and car show venue for the Tailgate N’ Tallboys Music Festival.
As the RO previously reported, the two-day event will feature headliners Bailey Zimmerman and Ernest.
Zimmerman’s debut album, “Leave the Light On,” led to charting success, peaking at No. 2 for Top Country Album and No. 17 for Top Current Album Sales, according to Billboard.
Two tracks from the album, “Rock and a Hard Place” and “Fall in Love,” both hit No. 1, with the former spending six weeks in the top spot.
Singer/songwriter Ernest has written tunes for Morgan Wallen and Jake Owen. Other acts scheduled for the event include Mike., Chase Matthew, Josh Ross, Jake Worthington, Jon Langston, and DJ Cliffy D.
“Hosting Tailgate N’ Tallboys Music Festival at Rockingham Speedway is an exciting development that underscores our commitment to enhancing the festival experience,” reads a press release issued Sept. 21. “This new venue offers upgraded parking and camping facilities, ensuring the utmost convenience and comfort for all festival-goers. We understand the importance of providing an exceptional atmosphere for our dedicated fans, and this location allows us to do just that.”
According to the press release, Tailgate N’ Tallboys has teamed up with Maxxed Diesel to “present the South’s Largest Car/Truck Show and Concert Series,” featuring cars, lifted and lowered trucks, side-by-sides and customized golf carts.
The event, scheduled for Nov. 17-18, will also include a slide pit, burn out pit and truck pull areas, as well as other activities and vendors, the release states.
The Tailgate N’ Tallboys website lists other events in Bloomington and Taylorville, Illinois; Clinton, Iowa; and Midland, Michigan.
