HAMLET — If you’ve got a hankering for some barbecue, one local church will oblige on this week.
St. James Catholic Church is holding its annual barbecue plate sale from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday.
Plates will come with pit-cooked pulled-pork barbecue, beans, coleslaw, a roll and a homemade brownie. For those who don’t eat pork, the church is also serving up half-chickens.
Diners can order tickets early or purchase tickets at the church the day of the sale, as well as eat at the church fellowship hall or get the plates to go.
Plates are $8 and deliveries can be made for orders of five plates or more. The church is also selling pints of barbecue at the same price and a flyer encourages buyers to stock up for the Super Bowl on Sunday.
