ROCKINGHAM — The female version of “The Odd Couple” kicked off Thursday night at the Richmond Community Theatre to a packed house, both upstairs and down.

The play, written by renowned playwright Neil Simon, follows the characters of Olive and Florence instead of Oscar and Felix but follows the same premise as the male rendition.

“We had a fabulous opening night,” Theatre Director Merrie Dawkins said with enthusiasm. “The cast and crew were top of the ladder. The audience was the best, and the reception was lots of fun and filled with yummy food. Thanks to all who made this night magical.”
