There’s quite a bit going on around Richmond County this weekend.

The town of Ellerbe will be hosting “Friday after 5” on May 19 from 5-8 p.m.

The event will feature music from the JDMT Band and comedy from Kashua Perfected.

Several food trucks are also scheduled to be on-site: Burger Bros, Alford’s Smoke N Grill and Scoops Ice & More.

There will also be bounce houses for kids and cornhole.

Down at the other end of the county, the Hamlet Lions Club is hosting a spring carnival at the fairgrounds starting Thursday and running through May 21 featuring rides, games and fair food.

Hours are 5-10 p.m. weekdays, 1-10 p.m. Saturday and 1-7 p.m. Sunday.

On Saturday, mini-trucks return to the Richmond County Airport for the seventh annual Spring Slam.

Although the car show is geared toward mini-truck culture, it often features other vehicles. The event starts at 9 a.m.

Both tracks will also be busy with Rockingham Speedway hosting the Zerbini Family Circus through Saturday and Rockingham Dragway hosting the ManCup Rumble at the Rock.

See the Visit Richmond County Facebook page for a full list of weekend events in the area.
