PINEHURST — The Uprising Theatre Company, Sandhills’ own Professional Theatre Company, will present “Wit & Whimsy,” a special fundraising event, Thursday, March 19 from 6:30-9 p.m. at The Fair Barn, Pinehurst.

The fanciful fundraiser will raise money for the Uprising Theatre Company’s fourth Annual Shakespeare in the Pines Festival production of “The Comedy of Errors,” which will be performed over two weekends this June in Tufts Park, Pinehurst — once again, offering free general admission for lawn seating.

“Wit & Whimsy,” sponsored by the Village of Pinehurst, will feature heavy hors d’oeuvres from Ashten’s Restaurant, wine, beer, silent and live auctions, live music along with some show-stopping song and dance numbers, and short performances showcasing the incomparable comedic wit and whimsy of William Shakespeare.

Tickets are $75 for individuals and $650 for reserved tables of 10. They may be purchased through TicketMeSandhills.com, through uprisingtheatrecompany.com, and at the door. The Fair Barn is located at 200 Beulah Hill Road South, Pinehurst.

The Shakespeare in the Pines Festival is a production of the Uprising Theatre Company, a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization, whose mission is to bring the highest level of artistic achievement and educational experience to the Village of Pinehurst, and to its surrounding counties.
