Our featured leading lady today has been a passionate advocate on the Dobbins Heights Town Council since 2006. Even though she is an Ellerbe native, Angeline David has called Dobbins Heights her home since she married her husband, Daniel David, who grew up in the Dobbins Heights community, in 1977.

She graduated from Richmond Senior High School in 1975 and attended Winston-Salem State University. In May, she and David will celebrate their 45th wedding anniversary on the 28th. They have three children, Angela, Shauna, and Daniel.

David retired from Perdue Farms after 28 years and decided to focus on her passion for empowering the youth and supporting her community. Currently on her fourth term on the council, she has made a major impact over the years, especially within parks and recreation.

Since being elected, David has been steadfast in her commitment to providing programs and facilities to Dobbins Heights residents and visitors. She has played a vital role in multiple initiatives and projects in the community, such as opening the Dobbins Heights Community Center, updating the pool with new paint and ensuring its accessibility for the community and visitors, a new playground, paving the basketball and tennis courts, and a variety of programs offered at the center.

She is currently working with Dobbins Heights Mayor Pro Tem Tyre Holloway on a tennis program for the community.

In addition to her seat on the town council, David serves on the Richmond County Partnership for Children Board, the Lumber River Council of Governments, and the New Horizons Board. She is also a longtime active member of Holly Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Rockingham.

Join us today in celebrating the continued dedication and commitment of this leading lady for passionately serving and bettering her community.
