Today we recognize a Hamlet native who has devoted her 25-plus-year career to caring for women and bettering their health.

Dr. Cile Williamson, MD, MPH, FACOG, is a three-time graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and holds a bachelor’s degree, a master’s in public health nutrition, and a medical doctorate from the Tarheel State university.

Upon her final graduation from UNC in 1994, she relocated to Denver, Colorado, to complete her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Colorado. She returned to the Sandhills area in 1998 and spent the next 10 years providing primarily obstetrics and delivering babies. During this time, Williamson noticed the need for comprehensive women’s health services in the area to both improve and protect their well-being.

Inspired to address this need, she founded Williamson Gynecology in Pinehurst to provide a comprehensive range of gynecological services and treatments to help women improve and protect their health from adolescence through menopause and beyond.

Williamson is known for her compassionate bedside manner, dedication to supporting women of all ages navigate their health needs, and incredibly passionate about providing comprehensive care to women to improve their overall health and lives.

When she is not running her practice and seeing patients, Williamson enjoys her other passions as an avid reader, runner, and working in her garden. She also loves spending time with her husband and two sons, especially watching sports, including baseball, basketball, soccer, and, of course, UNC games.

Join us today in celebrating this leading lady from Hamlet and her lifelong devotion to caring for women!
