3 Richmond Senior students turn tassels in summer graduation

ROCKINGHAM — Taylor Lockear, Elijah Sanders and Nyasia Harrington turned their tassels Thursday morning for Richmond Senior High School’s summer graduation.

Arthur Gilliam, a social studies teacher, offered words of encouragement and challenged the graduates to be kind and be committed to whatever they choose to do.

“This isn’t your finish line, this is just a checkpoint,” said Gilliam. “You have so much more to do, so many incredible things to accomplish. You made it this far and you will continue to make it. You have dreams that you have to fulfill and hopes that you have to see come to light. You have to keep going.”

Other graduates include Joseph Cox, Damon Harrington-Crank, Armaand Horton, Beyoncé Isaac, Nyaire Lindsey, Sierra Lowery, Christoper G. Quick, Cristian Reyes and Dawuan Swinnie.
