HAMLET — An afternoon joyride got a little too hot Monday afternoon.
According to the Hamlet Fire Department, a small group of people were riding a four-wheeler along the edge of the Hood Packaging property when one of the people noticed the bottom was on fire.
When the rider got off, firefighters say it went up in flames.
No injuries were reported but the ATV is a total loss.
