Accident Report
CORDOVA – On Monday evening, Cordova Fire Rescue was dispatched at 8:30 p.m. to a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of Ledbetter Street and Old Cheraw Highway.
The first vehicle was rear ended and pushed by the second vehicle out of the intersection. No one in the vehicle that was at fault was transported to the hospital, but the driver and two passengers in the rear-ended vehicle were transported to a local hospital by FirstHealth Richmond EMS.
Also on the scene was the North Carolina Highway Patrol, which is investigating the accident. There were no other details or updates at the time of this publication.
Fire Report
EAST ROCKINGHAM – Tones were sounded in East Rockingham Monday for a fully involved garage fire that also threatened two other structures close to the scene.
Upon arrival, authorities discovered that no one was currently living in the house that was on the same property as the garage.
The garage was a total loss, and siding on the structure next to it was heavily damaged. East Rockingham Fire and Cordova Fire Rescue both responded to the call. The incident is still being investigated.
