Accident Report: Nissan Sedan Fails to Stop at Intersection Causing Collision with Dodge Pickup Truck

EAST ROCKINGHAM – On Sunday afternoon at 3:28 p.m., the East Rockingham Fire Department was dispatched to a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Battley Dairy Road and Trevor Andrews Road.

On arrival, responders found the driver of a gray Nissan sedan had sustained serious injuries. Also, the driver of a burgundy Dodge pickup truck had minor injuries. The driver of the sedan was thought to have a possible broken arm.

Witnesses at the scene stated that the driver of the Nissan pulled into the path of the oncoming Dodge pickup. It was also stated that the vehicle never stopped before entering the highway.

Both drivers were transported to a local hospital by FirstHealth Richmond EMS.

Other agencies assisting were the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office and North Carolina Highway Patrol.

Troopers with the Patrol were in route to the hospital to investigate the accident with both drivers shortly after the incident. No update on either driver’s condition were available at the time of this publication.
