Accident Report: Sedan Drives into House in Rockingham

A gray sedan drove into a house in west Rockingham Sunday.

ROCKINGHAM – A gray sedan crashed into a home at 3:30 p.m. Sunday afternoon that sent the driver to a local hospital.

Emergency crews were dispatched to a possible vehicle crashing into a house at 108 Lucille Lane off of Highway 74 West. On arrival, members found that the driver (a 68 year old female) had crashed into the residence.

A spokesman on the scene stated that the driver was being transported to the hospital as a result from the airbag being deployed on impact. Only minor damage was reported to the house. No other injuries were reported.

Those responding to the scene were Cordova Fire Rescue, FirstHealth Richmond EMS, Rockingham Rescue and Richmond County Sheriff’s Office.
