Accident Report: Two Unrelated Accidents Occur on Airport Road Thursday Night

Crash at Airport and Mizpah Roads Sends One Driver to Local Hospital

EAST ROCKINGHAM – At 6:05 p.m. Thursday, local emergency crews were dispatched to a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of Airport and Mizpah roads.

The vehicles involved were a red Jeep Cherokee and a white Ford Van. According to first responders at the scene, “the Jeep was attempting to make a left turn onto Mizpah Road when it was struck in the rear by the van.

The driver of the Jeep was transported to a local hospital with reported back pains.

Agencies responding to the accident were East Rockingham Fire Department, First Health Richmond EMS, Rockingham Rescue and North Carolina Highway Patrol.

The wreck is being investigated by the Highway Patrol.

 

Vehicles Crash at Intersection of Airport and Battley Dairy Roads

HAMLET – Another accident on Airport Road was reported to the 911 Emergency Center at 7:05 p.m. Thursday.

The accident occurred when the driver of a black Honda Accord failed to stop at the four-way stop sign, causing it to be struck by a red Hyundai sedan.

A caller to the Richmond Observer stated that, “one occupant was entrapped, but when personnel arrived on the scene, everyone was free of the vehicles.”  

No one from either vehicle was transported to a local hospital from the scene.

Agencies responding were Hamlet Fire Rescue, East Rockingham Fire Department and the North Carolina Highway Patrol.

This accident is also being investigated by the Highway Patrol.
