HAMELT — Hamlet Fire Rescue was dispatched Friday afternoon at 5:15 p.m. to a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Highway 177 South and Airport Road, involving a pickup truck and a sedan.
Upon arrival of HFR, it was determined that one occupant in the sedan would need to be transported to the hospital. After talking to those involved, it was determined that the sedan was traveling on Airport Road and pulled out in front of the pickup, which was traveling on Highway 177.
Authorities confirmed at the scene that one patient was transferred to a local hospital, No further details on the patient’s condition were available at the time of this publication. and the accident is being investigated by the N.C. Highway Patrol.
