ROCKINGHAM — The search is over for an alleged probation absconder.
Richmond County Crime Stoppers announced on its Facebook page that 18-year-old Jaylan Montez Taylor was arrested by deputies with the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office on Thursday.
According to Richmond County Jail records, Taylor was booked at 11:32 a.m.
He is charged with possession of a firearm by a felon and resisting a public officer, and, according to the Crime Stoppers page, more charges are pending.
Taylor is being held under a $200,000 secured bond.
According to officials with the N.C. Department of Public Safety Division of Community Corrections, Taylor had not reported to his probation officer since September.

Records with the Division of Adult Correction show Taylor was given a 30-month suspended sentence in May of 2018 when he was convicted of two counts of breaking and entering vehicles, larceny of firearms and receiving or possessing firearms.
His probation on the latter charge was revoked in October of that year and he was also convicted of receiving stolen goods, landing him behind bars for three months.
Taylor was released in December and his parole ended in September.
The probation office has obtained warrants for his arrest on new charges related to absconding.
All defendants facing criminal charges are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
