HAMLET — A storm moving through earlier Sunday dropped hail on Richmond County for the second time this weekend.

Residents in Hamlet report quarter- to golf ball-sized hail falling in their yards while other areas just received rain.

Readers posted photos of the ice chunks as comments to a RO Facebook post about the severe thunderstorm warning that has since expired.

A regional tornado watch issued earlier in the afternoon also just expired.

Richmond County Emergency Services Director Donna Wright says her department hasn’t received any damage reports.
