AMBER ALERT: Police searching for missing Charlotte girl

CHARLOTTE — Police are asking residents in the Carolinas to be on the lookout for a young girl who was reportedly abducted Sunday morning.

The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department has issued an Amber Alert for 3-year-old Marlaya Monet Patterson.

She is described as a Black female, around 3 feet tall and weighing 40 pounds with brown hair and eyes.

The alleged abductor is 31-year-old Corey Patterson, a Black man who stands around 5 feet, 6 inches and weighs 140 pounds.

There was no clothing description for either. 

The alert, posted by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children also did not list the relation between the two.

They were last seen leaving Swan Drive in Charlotte in a silver 2012 Ford Escape with the North Carolina license plate number BDB2527. No direction of travel was given.
