ELLERBE — Emergency crews used the Berry Patch parking lot as a staging area during a missing person search Friday.

Law enforcement officials confirmed that a body was found but would not yet confirm the identity.

More information is expected to be released on Monday.

That area of the county has been the site of two previous major searches in recent years of men who have not yet been found.

Last April, crews set up at Ellerbe Middle School to look for Joseph Michael Blake, who legally changed his name to Sol Vain Zivek. He was last heard from at the end of March 2019.

Teams from more than 20 public and private agencies joined the effort to find Alvin Covington in March of 2016.

At that point, Covington had been missing for three months.
