RICHMOND COUNTY – If you are in the market for a good book and/or a baked treat, please take time to visit the local libraries in Hamlet and/or Rockingham on Friday/13th and/or Saturday/14th.

The Hamlet Public Library is not only a great source for a good slightly read edition of whatever you may want in the way of literary stimulation, but they are also offering baked goodies for a nominal fee.

Hours of the two sales are different on Friday but similar on Saturday.

The Hamlet Library will begin the book and bake sale event on Friday at 10 a.m. and continue it through 5:00 p.m.

They will repeat the process on Saturday from 10 a.m. till 2:00 p.m.

Rockingham’s Leith Memorial Library will similarly offer slightly used books (but no food) for sale on Friday from 2 – 4:30 p.m and again on Saturday 10 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.

Books will be on tables for ease of perusal but may not necessarily be grouped according to categories.

The sheer “volume of volumes” effectively precludes the time-consuming process of arranging books to any great degree of precise organization.

But you will be assured of a veritable smorgasbord of bibliophile delights.

Hardbacks will be available for $1 while paperbacks will go for .50 each.

Succinctly stated, if you are considering stocking your very own personal library, this is the opportunity you’ve been awaiting, so … see you this weekend at one, if not both, of our libraries in Hamlet and Rockingham.
