UPDATE: Tree Down on Washington Street Extension, Pee Dee Restoring Power to the Area

RICHMOND COUNTY – Pee Dee Electric is restoring power across the county, and is reporting as of 10:30pm Monday night that less than 300 people are now without power.

Earlier tonight, hundreds of citizens in the county were without power, and it seems a downed tree from heavy winds was largely to blame.

A tree fell across the road on Washington Street Extension earlier this evening, downing power lines and leaving people without power for hours. NC Department of Transportation and Pee Dee Electric were on the scene working to restore power and are continuing to do so until power is restored to all citizens in the county.
