Caroline Street railroad crossing closing for repair

Harrison Davis

ROCKINGHAM — A local railroad crossing will be closed for the better part of three days for repairs.

The Traffic Control Division of Southern Commercial Development announced Thursday that the crossing on Caroline Street in Rockingham is scheduled to be closed from 8 a.m. Sept. 23 until 5 p.m. Sept. 25.

Traffic will be re-routed and signs will be placed to mark detour routes.

However, the plan can change, “with or without notice, due to unforeseen circumstances,” according to the press release, including inclimate weather causing delays.

Currently, no rain is expected for those days.
