Concerned Citizens for Community Action Announces West End Fundraiser

WEST END — The Concerned Citizens for Community Action released a news item on Tuesday, February 27, inviting individuals to attend the “Red & Black Attire ‘Who’s Who’” Gala Fund Raiser. 

The event will be held on Saturday, April 14 at the Hampton Inn, 200 Columbus Drive in Aberdeen, NC from 6:00 p.m. until 12 midnight. 

According to the announcement, this event is designed “to raise funds to build a State of the Arts (sic) Recreation Youth Cultural Development Center on Hwy 211 in Eagle Springs or at a new proposed site in West End, NC.”

The facility would reportedly benefit up to 2500 youth and families in and around the Moore County area.

It is further stated that the guest list will include notable individuals such as boxer Ray Mercer; FSU basketball coach Ken Spencer; actress and motivational speaker Alberta Gordon; Maryland State basketball coach Bobby Collins; representative of Harvest Alliance Kori Frances; Aberdeen Mayor Robert Farrell; Fayetteville Mayor Mitch Colvin; and fifteen other “Who’s Who” honorees.  

The CCCA advertises as a non-political, nonprofit, diversified community organization whose mission is “To educate, inspire youth, and unite communities, beginning with the most disadvantaged group.”

Ticket prices are $50.00 per person ($35.00 senior discount) and donations will be accepted. Checks should be made payable to CCFCA and mailed to P.O. Box 66, West End, NC 27376.

Because of limited seating all ticket sales must be confirmed no later than March 9th.

The cost of the ticket will cover live entertainment by solo recording artist Anna Elizabeth and musician Gary Brown, Jr.  Dinner will be served, and photography services will also be available through McAllister Photography.
