WASHINGTON – Congressman Robert Pittenger (NC-09) issued this statement after learning of today’s terror attack in Barcelona:
“The Barcelona attack is another tragic, grisly reminder that radical Islamic jihadists don’t want world peace, sensitivity training, or understanding. They want us dead, along with eradicating our freedoms and way of life. This is why I’m currently on a national security trip working to increase efforts to identify and cut off the funding terrorists use to carry out their evil. My prayers are with the people of Barcelona.”
Congressman Pittenger is Vice Chairman of the House Financial Services Subcommittee on Terrorism and Illicit Finance, and Chairman of the Task Force on Terrorism and Unconventional Warfare. He is currently on a national security trip with House Leadership, working to increase international collaboration in the fight against Islamic jihad and enhance efforts to intercept terrorism financing.
