ROCKINGHAM – The Richmond County Sheriff’s Department has been especially active in the pursuit of drug offenders as of late.
Captain Jay Childers repots that two arrest warrants were executed in Rockingham within the past few days in separate incidents.
Damion Lashon Massey, 22, of McArthur Drive in Rockingham was arrested on Friday, October 13, subsequent to the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office Vice/Narcotics Unit making several controlled purchases of heroin from him. Massey was arrested and placed in the Richmond County Jail under a $100,000 secure bond.
Massey incurred multiple charges: possession of firearm by convicted felon; four (4) counts of selling/delivering a Schedule I controlled substance; two (2) counts of possession with intent to sell and deliver a Schedule I controlled substance; and two (2) counts of maintaining a vehicle for the purpose of selling/delivering a controlled substance.
The second arrest was that of Kodi Dean Grubbs, 31, of Aleo 7th Avenue in East Rockingham.
Grubbs was arrested on Thursday, October 19, after calls came in of a vehicle being parked “in the middle of the highway” and blocking traffic.
Upon arrival, Richmond County Sheriff’s deputies found cocaine on his person, as well as inside the vehicle.
Grubbs was charged with felony possession of cocaine, maintaining a vehicle for sell/delivery of a controlled substance, and impeding traffic and was placed in the Richmond County Jail under a secure bond of $5000.
No further information is available at this time on either arrest.
