ROCKINGHAM — Join the Gen. Henry William Harrington Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the AMVETS Post 316 on National Wreaths Across America Day, Dec.17, 2022 at noon for a wreath-laying ceremony honoring the veterans buried at Eastside Cemetery in Rockingham.

From the Revolutionary War to present day conflicts, our veterans are devoted sons and daughters, fathers and mothers, sisters and brothers. They come from all backgrounds in life to place those lives on the line for our freedoms.

National Wreaths Across America Day is a free, non-political event, that honors and remembers our nation’s veterans who are laid to rest in 3,500-plus participating locations nationwide. The mission to remember the fallen, honor those that serve, and teach the next generation the value of freedom is year-round!

Each December on National Wreaths Across America Day, the Wreaths Across America mission is carried out by coordinating wreath-laying ceremonies at Arlington National Cemetery, as well as at more than 3,400 additional locations in all 50 U.S. states, at sea and abroad. One of the new participating locations for 2022 is Eastside Cemetery in Rockingham, North Carolina.

In many homes during the holidays, there is an empty seat for one who is serving or one who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. There is no better time to express our appreciation than during the hustle and bustle of the holiday season. We hope you will join us on Saturday, Dec. 17, 2022 at noon at Eastside Cemetery in Rockingham.
