Charlotte – Dr. Mark Harris, Republican Candidate for North Carolina’s 9th Congressional District issued the following response to the recent passage of the “Omnibus” Spending Bill:

“The Omnibus Spending Bill voted on by Congress is the polar opposite of good government and conservative values.

This deal that left Chuck Schumer beaming with excitement funded every left wing priority sought by the Democrats.

Sadly, Planned Parenthood, the nation’s largest abortion provider, was fully funded with over half a billion dollars.

We continued to fund sanctuary cities as well as many other liberal pork barrel spending projects.

What’s missing from this budget busting budget bill was proper funding for the border wall, healthcare reform, or any other significant cut to wasteful spending.

Also missing is concealed carry reciprocity which is the top legislative priority of the NRA and 2nd Amendment supporters across the nation.

Today was a sad day for our nation. We must continue to work even harder to drain the swamp in our capital and change the way business is done in Washington DC!”
