Richmond County will once again host a music festival starting next year.

Promotion company Danny Wimmer Presents has a website online announcing Epicenter, a three-day event at Rockingham Festival Grounds.

The website shows an image of the Rockingham Speedway stands with “Epicenter of Rock N’ Roll” stripped across the press box.

However, the address listed is for Rockingham Dragway.

The event is scheduled for May 10-12, around the same weekend of the former Carolina Rebellion.

It was announced in September that the Rebellion was ending and being replaced with a “new destination music festival in North Carolina.”

A press released stated the location in Rockingham “will allow us to go all night in a more European style setting.”

No other announcements have yet been made regarding the festival.

The lineup is set to be announced Dec. 10, according to the site, epicenterfestival.com, which encourages future attendees to book their rooms now.

The speedway was purchased in late August by Rockingham Properties, LLC.
