ROCKINGHAM — The National Weather Service has updated a flash flood warning for Richmond County.

The warning was set to expire at 7 p.m., but has now been extended until 7:30. There is also an areal flood advisory, which includes northern Chesterfield County in South Carolina, until 7:15 and a flash flood watch in effect until midnight.

A line of thunderstorms dropped quite a bit of rain across the county Friday afternoon, leading to flooding in some areas. As of 6:50 p.m., NWS reported at least three inches of rain had fallen, with up to an inch more possible.
