Flip Fabrique to Awe at The Cole Auditorium

HAMLET – In the mood for a “flipping” good time? Look no further than Richmond Community College’s Cole Auditorium a week from Monday.

As a part of RCC’s DeWitt Series, Flip FabriQue will be performing its “Catch Me!”  show on Monday, October 23 at 7:30 p.m.

Flip Fablique is a company that was created in 2011 by students who graduated from the Quebec City Circus School. These students have performed with other well-known companies such as Cirque du Soleil and Cirque Éloize.

“I think this young acrobatic group will really impress everyone at the show,” Cole Auditorium director Joey Bennett said. “The show is geared toward all ages, and I’m sure everyone will be amazed.”

When creating their acts, the artists and directors come together so that each show highlights each of their performer’s qualities and strengths.

One of their most well-known acts is called “trampowall.” This acts requires members of the group to create momentum by bouncing forcefully on a trampoline and climbing up the wall to rest on a roof-like edge. This performance is their signature act.

Outside of the “trampowall,” the company has acts that are meant to make the audience gasp, laugh, and feel overwhelmingly happy.

Their performances are so aesthetically pleasing that they have grabbed the attention of major publications such as the New York Times, which has called their show “other-worldly” and London City Nights called the artists “practically superhuman.”

“We are still offering season tickets and President’s Clun memberships,” Bennett noted. “Both represent a savings on regular ticket prices.

DeWitt season ticket holders can use their tickets for entry, but single show tickets may be purchased for $30-$40 each. Visit the Cole Auditorium’s box office at 1042. W. Hamlet Ave., Hamlet, N.C., or contact the box office by calling (910) 410-1691 or e-mailing coleaud@richmondcc.edu.
